Partnering with Patients

Medication errors harm millions of people every year! We can help prevent them by empowering patients and their families to become active participants in their medical care. Way to accomplish this include:
* Provide a list of questions every consumer should ask their health care provider before taking a medication
* Encourage patients to maintain a current list of all prescription and over-the-counter medications that they are taking at any given time
* Standardize medication pamphlets to ensure consistency of information and appropriate, comprehensible language
