It seems as though updating prescriptions so that they can be filled, cross-checked, renewed, etc. electronically would save enormous amounts of time...

It seems as though updating prescriptions so that they can be filled, cross-checked, renewed, etc. electronically would save enormous amounts of time; time which doctors could then spend with the patients. This would be a worthwhile use of money to better the practice of medicine.
